This case belongs to Shri
Vashistha Narayan Singh, a great mathematician – the great scholar who
challenged Einstein theory of relativity. He was born on 2nd April
1942 in Basantpur village of Bhojpur district in Bihar, India.
NOTE: Readers are requested to
ignore the ascendant. Moon moves into Libra by the evening. But, I have
considered its position in Virgo as it explains the events satisfactorily.
Jeevakaraka Jupiter is placed in an inimical sign with Saturn and Mars in
the middle of nodal axis having no planets in the 12th sign and in
the signs ahead. Jupiter has Sun-Mercury combination in the 11th and
Venus-Ketu in the 10th. During his movements Jupiter meets Rahu and
Moon in a succession. Because of the exchange of signs between Saturn and
Venus, Jupiter gets the association of Venus in Taurus.
Jupiter with Saturn and Mars in the middle of nodal axis with no planets in
the 12th and 2nd indicates very difficult and lonely life
without supportive kith and kin. This also indicates lot of physical torture. There
is a peculiar combination in this chart which shows high intelligence and spark
of genius mixed with a yoga for mental illness. Moon, the Manahkaraka, is full
in digital strength and occupies Virgo, the exaltation sign of buddhikaraka
Mercury and receives the aspect Sun and Mercury. This indicates a very high
level of intelligence and mental calibre. However, this strength of Moon is
only apparent. Mercury who rules over nervous system and intellect is
debilitated and receives the aspect of Moon, the manahkaraka, forming
Paisachayoga. Moon has Rahu in the 12th and receives the aspect of
Sun and debilitated Mercury and has no helpful planets ahead to meet. Jupiter
in his transit will meet Rahu and such Moon first. All this indicates that the
native will have to suffer because of mental illness.
The Karmakaraka Saturn has just emerged from his debilitation sign and
joins Jupiter and Mars in the middle of nodal axis. Saturn is involved in sign
exchange with Venus whereby he gets the association of Ketu. Further Saturn has
Sun-Mercury in the 12th. This situation of Saturn indicates that a
life with high promise and talent will take an unexpected tragic turn wasting
away all the talent and promise. Saturn having the association of Jupiter and
Venus and having Mercury in the 11th and 2nd indicates
academic and teaching profession, especially connected with mathematics because
of the influence of Mars and Mercury. However, as Saturn is involved in sign
exchange with a planet that is placed in the same degree as that of Saturn, the
native’s life will take a completely different turn, which will be bad. This is
further enhanced by the association of Mars and Ketu with Saturn. Ultimately,
as Saturn gets the association of Ketu after sign exchange and has a
debilitated planet in the 2nd, the native will be reduced to a condition
where he will be devoid of any significant activity and contribution in social
life. The native’s life will see initial success during the first round of
Saturn because of the influence of Jupiter and Venus over Saturn. However, the
bad effects start to materialize in the 2nd round of Saturn around
his 34-36 years when transit Jupiter moves from Pisces to Taurus influenced by
natal debilitated Mercury and Jupiter-Mars-Saturn/Venus combination. At the
same time transit Saturn will be approaching the natal Rahu and Moon placed in
Leo and Virgo.
Female planets Moon and Venus are separated from all the male planets
indicating absence of marital bliss in the native’s life. This is further
supported by the Venus-Ketu combination and Jupiter-Mars-Saturn combination
that has no planets in the 12th and 2nd. However, Saturn
involved in sign exchange with Venus thereby Venus getting the association of
Mars-Jupiter, suggests some possibility of emotional involvement in the
native’s life, especially around his 22-23 years or 29-30 years when transit
Saturn was moving in Aquarius and Taurus.
A matriculation topper from Bihar Board in 1961, (Transit
Saturn and Jupiter were together in Capricorn in 1961 indicating the beginning
of a new phase in his life. As they are moving towards natal Venus/Saturn in
Aquarius and Sun-Mercury in Pisces, a bright time was indicated during the
first round of Saturn) he went to University of California,
Berkeley in 1963 (Transit Jupiter moving over Aquarius and Pisces
influenced by natal Ketu, Mercury and Moon indicates foreign travel for
education) to study Mathematics and got PhD in 1969. He received PhD on
Reproducing Kernels and Operators with a Cyclic Vector from University of
California, Berkeley, in 1969. His doctoral advisor was John L. Kelley. He
joined NASA as an Associate Scientist Professor. (During the beginning of
the year 1969, transit Saturn was moving over natal Sun-Mercury in Pisces while
transit Jupiter was moving over Virgo, in the 7th to them,
indicating a very significant and positive time in the native’s life).
In 1972, he returned to India and joined as a Lecturer in IIT, Kanpur. During the next five years, he taught at IIT Kanpur, TIFR, Mumbai and ISI, Kolkata. (During 1972, transit Saturn was moving in Taurus over natal Jupiter-Mars-Saturn/Venus. Saturn activating the sign exchange yoga indicates the native moving back to his motherland. Similarly, transit Saturn activating natal Jupiter-Saturn/Venus explains his teaching and academic assignments). In 1977, he showed symptom of Mental illness, Schizophrenia (during 1977, transit Jupiter was moving in Taurus and Gemini, transit Rahu was moving over natal Moon in Virgo and transit Saturn was moving over natal Rahu in Leo. Transit Jupiter is activating the natal Jupiter-Mars-Saturn yoga in Taurus, transit Saturn is approaching the natal Rahu-Moon yoga while transit nodes are influencing natal Moon and Mercury indicating the manifestation of the dreadful yoga of mental illness in the natal chart). After a decade of poor quality treatment at Kanke, in 1988 he left that place without informing anyone (transit Jupiter again in Taurus). In 1992, he was found in a poor condition in Siwan, Bihar.
His school students have
rehabilitated him in Patna, with a professor like ambience, study table, board,
library, books etc. to make him feel easy and comfortable.
The period between his 80 and 84th year when transit Jupiter
moves from Aquarius to Taurus between natal Venus-Ketu and Jupiter-Saturn-Mars
combinations, while transit Saturn approaching natal Ketu might prove to be
critical.
